A regenerative wellness sanctuary & intentional community · Greece

PHOS

φῶς — the Greek word for light

Come home to yourself.

Ι · Why now

Not a retreat from life —
a return to it.

Amid the accelerating pace of modern life, people are seeking deeper connection — to themselves, to others, and to nature. We don't believe the answer is more technology. It's the oldest human practices there are: stillness, self‑enquiry, life on the land, community earned rather than purchased.

39%

The human being crisis

of adults worldwide report significant daily worry. One in six people lives with loneliness. PHOS answers with intentional community.

<1 hr

Ecological disconnect

is all the average city dweller spends in green space each week — while global resource extraction has tripled since 1970. PHOS answers with regenerative land.

55%

AI & identity disruption

of workers draw their primary identity from their job — as AI redraws work itself. PHOS answers with self-enquiry.

ΙΙ · The vision

In a world of accelerating abundance, what becomes scarce is purpose. PHOS exists to cultivate it — pairing the oldest human practices, stillness, self‑enquiry, life on the land, with the most urgent question of our time.

No guru. No doctrine. The place and the practice hold the container — a replicable methodology for purposeful living, designed to grow beyond any single site.

ΙΙΙ · The sanctuary

One living whole,
six elements.

  1. 01

    The Retreat Campus

Transformational and silent retreats, workshops and hosted programmes — a 1,000 m² heart of the sanctuary where the inner work happens, in‑house and invited.

    Programme‑led
  2. 02

    Aesthetic Cabins

Twenty‑five design cabins folded into the landscape — seclusion, full immersion and generous spacing, the quiet accommodation backbone of the estate.

    Place‑led
  3. 03

    Community Homes

Fifteen donor‑funded homes and two ways to join — as patron, under a 99‑year lease, or as impact partner. Capital partners who also become residents.

    Steward‑led
  4. 04

    The Regenerative Farm

Land that grows more than food. A six‑hectare working farm feeding the retreat kitchen — olive oil, herbs, honey, farm‑to‑table dining, craft and recovery.

    Land‑led
  5. 05

    The Urban Sanctuary — Athens

An everyday monastery in the heart of the city — daily sits, silence hours, communal meals. A lotus in the mud, and the doorway between ordinary life and the land.

    City‑led
  6. 06

    The Global Seeker Network

WeSeek — a digital home for seekers worldwide: subscriptions, curated small‑group journeys and a creator platform. The community that begins before you arrive.

    Network‑led

V · The place

An ancient landscape,
chosen slowly.

Throughout the eras, Hellas has been a place where humanity reimagined how to live purposefully. Somewhere between mountain and sea, two to three hours from Athens, PHOS is choosing its ground — terraced hillside, forest and spring water, with room left wild on purpose.

  • 100–175acres of land, a third of it left untouched
  • 4regions in the search — Viotia, Arcadia, Attiki & Evia
  • 2finalists — a crater valley at Levidi, and three forest chambers on a stream at Karkalou

VΙ · The impact

Everyone returns
different.

Every person who leaves PHOS and returns to the city, returns a different person. That is the output no spreadsheet captures — and the one that compounds the longest. The rest, we commit to measuring:

People

450
participant-weeks a year at maturity
10%
of retreat places scholarship-funded

Planet

30–40%
of the site held as undeveloped buffer
50 t
of regenerative produce a year

Place

20+
local jobs at full operation
60%
of food sourced on-farm or locally

Baselines set before construction · an independent annual impact report · methodology and research published open-access.

VΙΙ · The path

Three stages,
one direction.

2026 — 2027

Foundations

Feasibility, land, and the first circle of stewards. The methodology takes written form; the search for ground concludes.

2028 — 2030

First community · Greece

Cabins rise, the campus opens, the farm takes root. The founding community moves in and the first retreats are held.

2030 — 2035

A replicable model

New sites across Greece and the Mediterranean; the seeker network grows worldwide. Not a place anymore — a pattern.

VΙΙΙ · The circle

Three ways
to belong.

The wider community

Explorers

Discovering the space for the first time — day visits, events and short retreats. Rest, inspiration and reconnection amid urban life.

The engaged core

Supporters

Regular visitors and active members — joining retreats, programmes and volunteering, contributing skills, energy and resources.

The heart of the community

Stewards

Semi-permanent members who live or spend extended time on the land — holding the vision, the values and the care of the place.

ΙΧ · The people

Jai Mexis

Founder — Olon Design Group & Odyssea

Award-winning architect and social innovator, raised in a spiritual community in India. Founded Odyssea, growing it to 170+ staff and €11.5M raised for vulnerable youth since 2016.

Loukas Oikonomakis

Co‑founder & CTO — Odyssea

Structural engineer and technologist, born into a farming family. Leads Odyssea's digital transformation — engineering, data science and AI in the service of social good.

χελιδόνι — the Greek word for swallow

Helidoni
Foundation, Inc.

Institutional oversight & stewardship

PHOS is held by an independent foundation — governance, oversight and expertise designed so the container outlasts any individual. The Helidoni Foundation (est. 2019) has backed seven-plus ventures, the Helidoni Group fifteen-plus Greek impact investments since 2022 — and as founding donor of the steward ownership model, it has pledged the first €500K of PHOS's capital. Around it grows a circle of twelve stewards and an eight‑seat expert advisory network.

Χ · An invitation

A sanctuary for the
age of abundance.

Come, come, whoever you are —
wanderer, seeker, one who has forgotten the way home.
The land here remembers what you have forgotten.
The silence here speaks what no teacher can say.

Join us in building the container for humanity's next chapter — a place, and a methodology, for living with intention. If that moved something in you, we would like to hear from you.
